DACI Board Members
Jerry Campbell II
Jerry Campbell II has served on the DACI Board since January, 2020, currently serving as Board Chair. He works for Partners Health Management as a Community Engagement Specialist, supporting the community with various needs with a focus on Mental Health, Substance Use, as well as Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. Jerry has worked in the field for over 20 years in various roles supporting persons, families and the community. He also currently serves on Fifth Street Ministries, as well as part of Board for Iredell Walk For Recovery, a DACI event. In his time, he likes to spend time with his son and dog, fishing, going to gym, tennis and anything outdoors. Jerry is also pursing his Master’s Degree in Population Health Management, attending Johns Hopkins University.
Michele Knapp (Treasurer)
Michele Knapp is the CEO of Fifth St Ministries, a social service agency in Statesville.
Hannah Scott
Hannah Scott has served on the DACI Board since January, 2023. She works for Mitchell Community College as Full-Time Communication Instructor. Hannah has worked in the field of education for 8 years in various roles and has worked at Mitchell for 4. She is actively involved with volunteering in downtown Statesville for both the Greater Statesville Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Statesville Development Corporation. Additionally, with the chamber she serves on the Workforce and Education Development Committee and chairs the subcommittee partnership with the Boys and Girls Club while also serving on the board for Leadership Statesville. In 2022 she was selected as a Future 5 award recipient via the Greater Statesville Chamber of Commerce. In her free time, she likes to spend time with her cats and spouse.
Alex Caras
Alex is an LCAS and works as an outpatient therapist with individuals and families with substance use needs. He has served on the DACI Board for nearly 2 years. Alex has worked in the SUD/MH field for over 20 years in numerous roles.
Dorthy Hensley (Chair )
Dorthy Hensley started with United Federal Credit Union in 2008. In 2019 she was promoted from Assistant Branch Manager to Branch Manager. Dorthy enjoys hiking, gardening, cooking, and doing CrossFit.
Jesse Stroud
Jesse has served on the DACI Board since 2020. He is the pastor of Fern Hill Baptist Church in Mooresville and is also the Director of Development and Integration for Southern Family Medicine. His favorite part of serving on the DACI Board is working to try to help reduce the substance misuse problem in Iredell County and assisting people with their journey to recovery. When not working Jesse enjoys deer hunting and golf.

Kim Wasson
Angels Wings
Kimberly Wasson has been on the Board of the Drug and Alcohol Coalition since 2021. As a Statesville City Council member, keeping our city safe is critically important to her. She is also the mother of 2 children and a grandmother. She believes that prevention is the best method to address our community’s substance abuse problems. Kim's passion is taking care of people and she believes that God wants to use her love of people to foster and promote the Drug and Alcohol Coalition of Iredell County. As the owner of a marketing company, Dynamic Marketing Solutions, Kim especially wants to help DACI grow and promote the “Just Say No” message to youth. She has an extensive background in education and firmly believes that education is the key for preventing substance abuse issues. When Kimberly is not working or volunteering with the Angel Wings Foundation in our community, she can be found spending time with friends and family. She especially enjoys attending basketball and football games and watching the Hallmark Channel. Her favorite bible quote is “Love Thy Neighbor as thy self”
